About us
BeaconSys, Inc. is a spin-off of Carnegie Mellon University, and has its origins in the Trinetra research project. Founded by an innovative core of engineers and researchers with significant experience in the embedded systems and mobile devices markets, BeaconSys currently focuses on assistive technologies for blind and visually impaired users.
BeaconSys leverages off-the-shelf smart phone and global positioning systems to provide support for a rich set of location aware, and context aware applications, including first-responder support, building navigation, retail shopping, smart transportation and more.
